Biophilia Tracker for Knee Research

According to the World Health Organization, pathology of the musculoskeletal system ranks second among causes of disability in less than two weeks in developed countries, after respiratory diseases, but ranks first in periods of more than two weeks. Arthropathy of any type is typically diagnosed in 9.6% of men and 18% of women over the age of 60. Arthropathy is prevalent in developed countries - 14.1% of men and 22.8% of women over the age of 45 are diagnosed with pathological symptoms. These indicators show a clear upward trend due to the aging population.

The system and software of Biophilia Tracker and the 3D visualization of the knee joint study the knee joint.

The diagnostic value of NLS-contrast for knee pathology is very high for non-invasive methods. In acute trauma to the knee, NLS imaging has been shown to reliably reduce the time required for diagnosis, improve quality of life in the first 6 weeks post-trauma, and reduce overall costs. We also note the relatively high reliability of studies of damaged menisci; at the same time some authors recommend trusting more 3D NLS scans than CT and MRI in suspicious cases. The first signs of degenerative changes in articular cartilage show up fairly well in the form of fibrous surface separations, as doing so requires very high resolution - down to 30 microns, and the "Biophilia" system has such resolution properties. Assessment of the condition of the ACL can be successfully accomplished using systems with 3D visualization, something that was quite difficult with previous generation systems.

Compared with CT and MRI, 3D non-linear scanning is of particular importance as a highly informative method for the pathological diagnosis of the knee, firstly due to the lower research costs and at the same time the diagnostic advantages of the latter are not so evident in this field. This fact is evidenced by the increasing use of NLS systems in orthopedics.

We attempted to improve the diagnostic possibilities of NLS scans by broadly applying three-dimensional modalities for visualization of morphological structures, such as 4D tissue, multiple scans in three mutually perpendicular planes, depth vision, rapid vision, and ultra- Microscan.

For proper ultramicroscopic scanning, the resolution of NLS systems must not exceed 30 microns, for cytological studies - less than 10 microns, so the only real way to achieve this is to use 3D visualization algorithms such as MIP (Maximum Intensity Projection, MPR (Multiplanar Reconstruction) and DVR (Direct Volume Rendering).

Biophilia Tracker is committed to solving more medical problems and making detection and treatment more convenient.
